Training Tasks
Why do our Training Tasks look different?
Training Tasks are customizable. This article is based upon the default task layout. Your tasks may contain different sections of content if your agency has customized the layout of your tasks.

- The Title, Task Number and Step.<
- The Purpose

- Reference
- Uniform Method of Task Execution
- Comments (see special note on comments below)
- Executions
- Task Accomplishment / Certification
- Warning
- Document Training Task Execution
- Notice
Document Training Task Execution
If you are an FTO or higher you will also see the Document Training Task Execution form
At the bottom of the task you will see the Document Training Task Execution form. For convenience the form will be pre-populated with the current DOR and Step numbers; these can be modified if necessary. By default the radio button selector is set to Executed.
You have two choices when Executing / Completing a Training Task.
-
- Executed - means you have executed the task with your probationer but you are not ready to certify your probationer as having Certified/Completed the task. You will come back again in the future to document another Execution or Completion. Leave the radio button set to Execution and click the button.
- Completed - means you feel the probationer has sufficiently executed the task to Certify the task as Completed. Completing a task sends the completed task through approval workflow. Change the radio button to Completed and click the button.
Add additional Execution or Completion
To Add another Execution or Completion, assure the radio button is set to the proper choice (Executed or Completed) and click the Document Training Task Execution button
Special Warning and Notice
If a Training Task has been completed, when you view it as an FTO or higher you will see a warning:
This warning is explaining that you may document another execution of this Training Task, however the previous Completion will be changed to an Execution and your new addition will be whatever option you choose Executed or Completed.
If a task has been approved (and your agency allows re-completion of tasks) you will see the following notice:
As the notice states, the Training Task has been Approved. You can still document an additional execution or re-complete the task.
-
- If you Execute a previously completed task, we will reactivate the task and you will have to re-complete it again in the future.
- If you Complete a previously completed task, we will replace the prior completion date with the new completion date and send the task through workflow.
Task Execution & Certification Area
Once a task is Executed and/or Certified Complete, you will see the date, time and name of each person at the bottom of the task.
Using the Comments Area
The comments area of a training task was designed to allow you to add a note while you are working on the training task.
Special note on the comments area
Comments on Training Tasks are NOT a part of Sokolove's Methodology, however we feel its important to be able to save some notes for yourself while you are working on a task, just as if you wrote yourself a note on the margin in pencil.
With that in mind, the notes feature was added to assist you while working on a task and we strongly recommend you remove your notes when and/or before you formally Completed the Task.
To save the comments to a task WITHOUT Executing or Completing a task, use the Save Without Execution button at the bottom right of the training task
